I am Alicia J. Gant. I graduated from Miami Carol City Senior High in the early part of the twenty-first century. I attended The Florida State University and graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Accounting. I worked as an Accountant in the private sector and for 2 years I managed several Jackson Hewitt properties.
I transition into the world of education in August of 2009 were I began my teaching journey at Charles R. Drew Middle School. I taught intensive Math, and Introduction to Computers. I started my second year of teacher at Miami Northwestern Senior High school were I rose from a business technology teacher to the Director of Student Activities. On December 2012 I graduated from Barry University with my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership.
In June of 2015, I decided that I wanted to focus more on technology and helping youth build their capacity in the world of digital media and therefore I transitioned my career towards technology and accepted a position at North Miami Beach Senior High. I worked effortless and became the Department chairperson of Career & Technical Education at NMB, STEAM Liaison, EESAC Chairperson and Building Steward.
I accepted an offer to join the Gator family in June 2019 where I have transited to the Barbara Goleman Senior High School family to build their Magnet and CTE programs. I am very excited to bring my knowledge and energy to the Gator Family, and together we will build GREATNESS!
